Wentworth Miller Responds To Fat-Shaming, Opens Up About His Battle With Depression


After the LAD Bible posted a fat-shaming meme that featured two pictures of Wentworth Miller, one showing his chiseled body and the other making fun of his weight, the actor took to Facebook to point out that the media shouldn’t subject people to ridicule because of their physical appearance.

The Prison Break star revealed that he was contemplating suicide at the time the picture was taken, confessing that the period was the ‘lowest point’ of his adult life. The 43-year-old celebrity explained in a lengthy post that he turned to food for comfort, saying that ‘eating became the one thing I could look forward to.’ Miller added that he was ‘ashamed and in pain,’ believing that he was ‘damaged goods.’

Despite the fact that the actor has overcome depression, he admitted that it was painful to see the meme, explaining that when he first saw those pictures ‘it hurt to breathe.’

After Miller opened up about his struggles, the LAD Bible Facebook page issued an apology to the actor, writing that they ‘got this very, very wrong. Mental health is no joke or laughing matter.’
