Less than 24 hours after her father passed away, Vanessa Hudgens amazed the world with her performance as Rizzo in Grease: Live on Sunday, January 31. It wasn’t just that she was brilliant, it was the fact that she outdid herself just one day after the death of her dad Greg.
As it often happens in similar awe-inspiring situations, Twitter exploded with words of comfort and support from both celebrities and fans across the globe. The 27-year-old actress and singer took to the social network before the performance to share the sad news that her dad succumbed to cancer, saying that she would dedicate the show to him. Here’s what she wrote:
“I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer. Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers. Tonight, I do the show in his honor.”
