Tracy Morgan Still Recovering From Crash, May Never Perform Again

The 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan is undergoing rigorous rehab after the June car crash that killed one of his friends, comedian James McNair, and it’s still uncertain whether he will be able to resume his career.

Speaking to the New York Post, attorney Benedict Morelli said that his client suffered a serious brain injury and that his rehabilitation includes daily speech, cognitive, vocational and physical therapies.

“He has to use the wheelchair anytime he’s out and about. He can’t do that many steps. He’s still unsteady. He has this head injury, and his leg isn’t totally better yet. He has to struggle to inch along.”

Morgan and his friends were returning from a performance in Delaware in June when a Walmart truck hit the back of their limo. Walmart said in a court filing Monday that Morgan and his companions caused their injuries “in whole or in part” because they weren’t wearing seatbelts.

Morgan was shocked by the statement and completely rejected their claims.

“After I heard what Walmart said in court I felt I had to speak out. I can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused. My friends and I were doing nothing wrong. I want to thank my fans for sticking with me during this difficult time. I love you all. I’m fighting hard every day to get back.”
