Tisdale And Wendt Co-Starring In New Sitcom

Ashley Tisdale and George Wendt are tapped to co-starring a new sitcom. The sitcom is created by the team who made Will & Grace.

According to Deadline.com, the former ‘Cheers’ star and ‘The High School Musical’ star have been cast in David Kohan and Max Mutchnick’s still untitled comedy. It should be related to a workplace, as reported.

The show portrays a group of people coming from different cliques in high school, but eventually find themselves working together as adults at a local Charlestown, MA. Barber shop called Buzzy’s.

Their dreams may lie across the Charles River in Boston, but for now, their work, their lives, their loves and their worries will remain in the town they grew up in. That will be the plot. Young, witty, smart and interesting lives of a group. It’s like we’ve seen this before…

The project was set up at TBS a year ago, stemming from an exploratory meeting Kohan and Mutchnick took with the network’s programming chief Michael Wright.

Kohan and Mutchnick’s KoMut Entertainment and Warner Horizon are producing.

If the pilot survives, this will be Tisdale’s first role in a series after the cheerleading comedy Hellcats was cancelled in 2011. It ran for just one season.

Since the Cheers ended in 1993, Wendt has had several guest starring in numerous U.S. TV roles. The latest is reuniting with former co-star Kristie Alley on her self-titled sitcom airing in February 2014.
