Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Slam Bill Cosby At The Golden Globes

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Show

When The Golden Globe hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler said they would deliver jokes about Bill Cosby at the award ceremony, they sure as hell weren’t kidding.

The two comedians didn’t waste any time in deriding the former Cosby Show star, who has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting over 20 women during the past few decades.

Poehler cracked the first joke to the surprise of many Hollywood celebrities.

“In `Into the Woods,’ Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from her tower for her prince and Sleeping Beauty just thought that she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby.”

Fey chimed in, announcing to the audience that Cosby had finally spoke out about the allegations against him.

“I put the pills in the people! The people did not want the pills in them!”

Given the silence among celebrities about the claims against Cosby, the jokes were especially significant. This is a matter that should definitely be talked about, but should we joke about it? The good thing is that the allegations are once again in the center of attention and Cosby should know that they cannot be swept under the rug this time.
