Taylor Swift’s Video Celebrated By Feminists

Not long ago, Taylor Swift was accused of being ‘boy crazy’ and singing mainly about her ex-boyfriends and love life. Now, she gave us just what we wanted, a boy crazy song and video, which, oddly enough, is being celebrated by feminists. We wanted it and now we got it. In 2013, when a Vanity Fair reporter asked her about her obsession with boys, she called her out.

“For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated – a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way – that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.”

Swift performs the unflattering role that the public has foisted upon her. She opened about the video in a recent interview.

“There’s been sort of a sensational fictionalization of my personal life”, Swift said in an interview about the song. They’ve drawn up this profile of a girl who is a serial dater, jetsetting around with all her boyfriends and she get them but she can’t keep them because she’s too emotional and she’s needy. Then she gets her heart broken because they leave and she’s jilted, so she goes to her evil lair and writes songs about it for revenge.”

Also in Taylor news, she can be seen almost makeup-free on the newest Wonderland magazine cover. It is quite hard to believe, but the music’s It Girl actually started out as an awkward, country balladeer from Pennsylvania.
