Suge Knight Might Be Granted Bail
Although Marion ‘Suge’ Knight has been held without bail since February, the rap mogul is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning for a bail-review hearing.
A Los Angeles prosecutor requested that a judge set Knight’s bail at $25 million in his murder case, citing a number of threats and violent acts from previous years.
The motion filed by Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Barnes cites 31 incidents in which Knight is accused of suing violence or threating others, including threats he made about the forthcoming movie ‘Straigh Outta Compton.’
And that’s not all. The motion also accuses Knight of money-laundering and extortion schemes targeting beginner rappers, as well as established ones. He has reportedly received more than $10 million in recent years.
Knight was charged with murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run in February after he struck two men, killing one, with his truck in a Compton, California, parking lot. He has pleaded not guilty.
If Knight attempts to post bail, he must prove that the money has not come from illegal activities.
