Stephen Colbert Says A Little Prayer For Donald Trump

As you all know by now, Stephen Colbert will take over David Letterman’s seat on September 8 and officially become the host of one of the most popular shows in America, The Late Show. As the date of his takeover approaches, Colbert decided it was about time he opened up a bit about his future plans.

Apart from discussing his approach to the show, Colbert gave us a hint about what could be the focus of the first few episodes. Namely, he seemed very interested in real estate magnate Donald Trump and even had a very personal message for the most controversial presidential candidate in history.

He desperately wants Trump to stay healthy until he gets back on television. Even though we have no idea in which direction he will take the discussion about Trump, Colbert made sure to give us just enough info to keep us curious.

Here’s what he said:

“Every night before I go to bed, I light a candle and pray that he stays in the race and I also pray that no one puts that candle anywhere near his hair.”

Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see what Colbert is up to, but we’re sure things are about to get super interesting.
