Step Aside Kim, Gangnam Style Has Broken The Internet!

Bad news for Kim Kardashian.  Psy’s incredibly successful Gangnam Style has managed to finally break the Internet, i.e. YouTube.  Namely, the video for the song has had so many views on YouTube that the video-sharing platform has to upgrade so people can still watch it.  YouTube released a statement on its Google+ page, explaining that Gangnam basically has more views than YT can count.  And they never expected something like this to happen.

“We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met PSY. Gangnam Style has been viewed so many times we have to upgrade! Hover over the counter in PSY’s video to see a little math magic and stay tuned for bigger and bigger numbers on YouTube.”

The song was released in 2012 and became an instant hit.  Psy’s YouTube channel now has 7.5 million subscribers and has been visited more than 4 billion times since 2010.
