Spike Lee Slams Clippers Owner Donald Sterling

Moviemaker Spike Lee has taken aim at Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling once again. He insists the sports boss has to be ousted from the National Basketball Association as soon as possible.

The director stepped in a racist drama swirling around businessman Donald at the end of April. He insisted the remarks Donald made about African-Americans to an ex-partner were “tainting the league and tainting America”.

Sterling and his behavior hit headlines on April 27 when an audio of him badmouthing his ex for posting a picture of herself with basketball legend Magic Johnson on Instagram.com page went viral.
His remarks prompted an immediate backlash with celebs like Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne and Queen Latifah, who all called for a boycott of Sterling’s team.

Superfan Lee told CNN that his remarks made him look like a slave owner.

He said, “I don’t know the bylaws of the league but he (Sterling) has to go… because he’s tainting all the other 29 partners, he’s tainting the league, and he’s tainting America.”
“When you hear something like that, that is the mentality of a slave master. He sees his players as slaves.”

He also repeated his concerns in an interview with Anderson Cooper, whose interview with a remorseful Donald aired on Sunday, May 11.

Lee said, “That sounds like a (slavery) plantation owner: ‘My darkies love me!'”
He added, “This thing is getting volatile now.”

Sterling has been banned from the NBA and league officials are working on a plan to strip him of ownership of the Clippers.
