Russel Crowe Surprised Won’t Come Back For ‘Man Of Steel’

Actor Russel Crowe will probably not be coming back as Superman’s father in the new Man of Steel sequel.

The Oscar-winning actor, who played Jor-El in 2003 movie, was killed off by Michael Shannon’s General Zod character. Later on, he appeared again only as a hologram, guiding Superman and helping him to defeat his enemy.

This time, Crowe believes that his time as Joe-El won’t be back for the sequel, as the film is taking new direction. His role was previously portrayed by Marlon Brando.

As he told Yahoo Movies,

” I don’t think they’re going to use me again. I think they’re jumping onto a different stream. You know, they’re going with the different superhero worlds colliding (this time).”

This long awaited blockbuster featuring Henry Cavill who reprised the role of Superman, as well as Ben Affleck as Batman, is scheduled for premiering in 2016.
