Rapper’s Apology Accepted by Anti-Defamation League

Rapper Macklemore recently issued an apology to the Anti-Defamation League, which according to reports, has been accepted.

The ADL asked the rapper to apologize for a costume that he was wearing during a recent concert. The concert in question featured a large plastic nose, a black wig and a beard. While Macklemore claims that it was not his intention to offend anyone, many people saw the costume as poking fun of Jewish people.

According to people who criticized the rapper after seeing pictures from the show, Macklemore was dressed up as a common Jewish stereotype.

The rapper denied that he was looking to offend anyone and took to Twitter and his official website to issue statement. He had said earlier that his costumes have always been a part of his performances, and that this costume was no different. He claimed that to him, the costume had nothing to do with Jewish stereotypes of any type and he apologized to everyone who saw the costume as that.

The ADL stated that they welcomed the apology, adding that no matter what the rapper’s motives were, the costume did remind many people of an anti-Semitic caricature. The organization said that they will take his word that he did not intentionally poke fun at any particular culture and that they accept his apology without reserve.

Macklemore is a rapper that is known for taking a stance against racism and bigotry, which is why many fans were surprised when they thought that he was mocking Jewish culture with his on stage costume.
