Queen of Comedy Joan Rivers In Medically Induced Coma

The famous comedian Joan Rivers is in a medically induced coma at a hospital in New York, according to “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Nancy O’Dell.

The 81-year-old queen of comedy stopped breathing on Thursday during a ‘routine’ throat surgery at a clinic on New York’s Upper East Side.

She went into cardiac arrest and was transferred at Mount Sinai hospital for treatment.

She appeared on Wednesday night in New York City at an event promoting her book, and was booked to perform in Red Band, New Jersey on Friday.

“She’s a trailblazer. She’s everything that we want to bring to Red Bank and to our stage,” said theater operations Vice President Izzy Sackowitz. “We were close to being sold out.”

Rumor has it that the staff at the hospital is going to bring her out of the medically induced coma this weekend.

Everyone hopes for the best, as Larry King tweeted: “Go get ’em girl.”
