Pennsylvania Man To Plead Guilty To Leaking Nude Celebrity Pics
A man from Pennsylvania has agreed to plead guilty to the ‘Celebgate’ nude photo hack, according to the FBI. Authorities said that 36-year-old Ryan Collins illegally accessed private phone and email accounts of stars such as Jennifer Lawrence and leaked their nude photographs online.
Collins signed a plea agreement to plead guilty to a felony violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, which means that he faces up to five years behind bars, with a recommended 18-month prison term and a $250,000 fine. He was charged in connection to the hacking scandal that affected more than 100 celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst, Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna and Kate Bosworth. None of these names were mentioned in the FBI press release.
This is not the first time that a hacker who leaked celebrity nude pictures has been charged for the crime. A Florida man was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012 after he leaked nude images of Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and Christina Aguilera.
