Following his arrest a few days back, Pawn Stars’ Austin ‘Chumlee’ Russell said he would fight the felony weapon and drug charges, as well as the sexual assault allegations. Russell issued a statement through his lawyer David Chesnoff, who told the Associated Press that the reality star was ‘looking forward to the truthful conclusion.’’
Chumlee, who could face some serious jail time, was released from prison on Thursday after his $62,000 bail was posted. So, how did Chumlee get himself in this situation? Apparently, a search warrant was approved in a sexual-assault complaint against him, which culminated when the police raided the celebrity’s home and discovered methamphetamine and marijuana. They also found at least one weapon.
The investigation about the sexual assault is ongoing whereas Chumlee is scheduled to appear in court for felony drug and weapon possession on May 23. Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison, the co-owner of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, said he didn’t know the details of his colleague’s arrest but added that they are ‘here to help Chumlee any way we can.’
