Mob Wives Star Big Ang Passes Away At 55
Mob Wives star Angela Raiola, better known as “Big Ang,” lost her battle with cancer Thursday morning, her close friend Vinnie Medugno confirmed the sad news on her Twitter account. She was 55 years old.
Medugno wrote that Angela was “called home’’ at 3:01 a.m., surrounded by all the people she loved and cared about. He also took the opportunity to thank Ang’s fans, letting them know just how much she appreciated their support through the difficult times.
Mob Wives creator Jennifer Graziano also expressed her sorrow, saying that he was honored to be her friend. Raiola was diagnosed with throat cancer in March 2015, which returned in December last year. Unfortunately, she was then also diagnosed with stage four brain and lung cancer.
In February, her family set up a GoFundMe page to raise enough money to pay her medical expenses. They received more than $45,000 in less than two weeks.
