Michelle Williams Sleepless On Broadway

Actress Michelle Williams seems to have some insecurities about her Broadway debut in a new revival of Cabaret. She also confessed that she actually accepted a gig “thinking things through.”

Beautiful actress admits she may be a bit impulsive and that she has jumped at the chance to portray the all-singing and all-dancing role of Sally Bowles, which was portrayed by famous Liza Minnelli in the 1972 adaptation. Given that she is very shy, she seemed to fail to consider the possibility of being too nervous and anxious in front of live audience.

She reports to New York Times,

“I’m still losing sleep. I don’t think its apprehension. I wanted to do this from the minute I heard about it. It’s just the unknown.”

But that’s not all, as the star continues,

“I’ve realized something about myself. When I said I wanted to do this, not a few people in my life said, ‘Are you sure? Aren’t you going to be terrified?’ I’m not good at thinking things through. I get excited about something, and that outweighs everything else. I don’t really carry the vision down the line to see the possibilities of how it might turn out.”

“I think that for my work, that’s actually been an OK trait. For life, not so good.”

The play is co-directed by Sam Mendes and choreographer Rob Marshall. It also features the return of Alan Cumming and his Tony Award-winning role as the Emcee.

The previews began on March 21st, and the play is scheduled for New York’s Stage 54 later in April.
