The current First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama has once again managed to prove that she’s the most awesome one to date. How, you wonder? Well, she gathered quite the impressive number of prominent musicians and went on to organize them to create an anthem devoted to the 62 million women around the world who don’t have access to education.
Celebrity news has it that the composition will feature renowned names such as Kelly Clarkson, Zendaya, and Janelle Monae, and the song will be titled “This is For My Girls.” The all-female anthem was composed by Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren, AOL MAKERS have taken it upon themselves to produce it, and Kelly Rowland, Missy Elliott, and Lea Michelle will also lend a hand.
The whole aim of the song is to raise awareness and inspire people to give their support to women around the world who don’t have the opportunity to pursue an education. You will only be able to download the song via iTunes, but all proceeds will be donated in support of the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund. Zendaya publicly expressed her opinion on the whole process, saying:
“I was like, ‘Is this real life? It’s not a normal email or normal phone call. It’s like, ‘Hey, this is the White House.’ Like, whoa.”
