American rock icon Meat Loaf collapsed on stage last night while performing in Edmonton.
Thankfully, the latest news claims that he is in stable and good condition. The 68-year-old singer, whose real name is Marvin Lee, had canceled a few Canadian dates before last nights show due to illness.
As can be seen on video footage from the Edmonton show on Thursday night, he was performing one of his biggest hits “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” when he suddenly dropped his microphone and collapsed to the ground.
Musicians from his band quickly ran to his side and an ambulance was called to take the singer to a hospital. Meat Loaf has a history of collapsing on stage. It happened to him once in 2003 and again in 2011. After that second fall, Meat Loaf blamed the collapse on an asthma attack.
He is known best for his “Bat Out of Hell” album, which was released 40 years ago and has sold more than 43 million copies worldwide.
