Lil Wayne Threatens To Leave Cash Money And Take Biggest Stars With Him

Lil Wayne continues to beef with the co-founder of his label Cash Money, Birdman. The rapper says that the record company refused to release his new album, The Carter V, which would be his eleventh studio album. The album was supposed to come out in early December 2014, but it was shelved by executives.

On top of that, Wayne is suing Birdman for $8 million, which was the advance that he was promised for his album.

Wayne added more threats to the deal, tweeting “I got Barbie…I got Drake too!” recently. Barbie refers to rap diva Nicki Minaj. Minaj and Drake are Cash Money Records biggest selling artists after Wayne, and the rapper is threatening the record company, saying that if he walks, both Minaj and Drake will walk as well.

Lil Wayne first signed with Cash Money when he was only nine years old and has been the star of the label for well over a decade. In 2005, he became the CEO of Cash Money offshoot Young Money Entertainment.
