Lady Gaga Celebrates Her Birthday At Roseland Ballroom

Pop icon Lady Gaga threw herself a 28th birthday celebration by kicking off a seven-show residency at New York’s distinguished Roseland Ballroom venue.

The Paparazzi hit maker managed to celebrate her birthday as the last gig at the concert hall, which will close after her last date on April 7th.

Before kicking off her first show at the venue, the star tweeted on Friday, March 28th, “Time to give Roseland the goodbye it deserves, with all the roses in NY!”

Controversial star arrived at the venue wearing a sheer body suit covered in red roses. She posted a picture form her dressing room, captioning: “It’s showtime baby! So far this has been the best bday (birthday) ever!”

In the audience, there was her actor boyfriend Taylor Kinney and front man Nate Ruess. She closed the show by telling her fans,

“Thanks for making this the best birthday ever.”

These shows serve as a warm-up for her ArtRave: The Artpop Ball world tour, which starts in Florida on May 4th.

Roseland Ballroom has hosted every musical stripe since it was converted from an ice-skating rink into a concert hall back in 1956. The storied venue is nearing the end of its run, and Lady Gaga, who’s in the midst of sending it off in style with a seven-night stand, is doing the Roseland proud in its final days as a New York icon.

After third studio album Artpop‘s pale debut at the tail end of 2013 and a neon, vomit-soaked performance at South By Southwest music festival in March, Lady Gaga has once again left us wonder about her most recent artistic endeavor.
