Pop star Lady Gaga and her fiancé Taylor Kinney participated in the 2015 Chicago Polar Plunge Sunday morning along with Kinney’s Chicago Fire fellow actors.
The two lovebirds helped the Special Olympics raise over $1 million by taking the ice plunge in Michigan. Apart from them, The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon and actor Vince Vaughn also jumped in the frozen lake for charity.
Gaga posted several pictures on her Instagram profile after the event, including one particularly sweet in which she’s on Kinney’s shoulders.
“Feels so good to do things for a good cause like the Special Olympics. It’s great (to) donate money, but also great to donate a gesture of love for those who deserve to be showered with it… My weave froze!! Taylor gave me his hat I thought my wig was gonna freeze into and become one with the lake.”
Casey Hogan, president of Special Olympics Chicago, told the Associated Press that he is forever thankful to the singer for helping them raise so much money.
“She’s pure heart. She came out for the cause – low-key, no press. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
