Kristen Stewart Thinks 1984 Adaptation’s Too Big For Her
George Orwell’s1984 is about to become a romantic adaptation on the big screen, starring actress Kristen Stewart. Since critics are expecting a classic movie, Stewart admitted she’s terrified of the role.
The Twilight star is supposed to perform with Warm Bodies star Nicholas Hoult in the newly-titled adaptation Equals, which is set in a futuristic, dystopian society and focuses on a love story.
Great expectations of the movie by fans and critics alike are terrifying Kristen, who despite her experience in the Twilight Saga, told the Associated Press she might not be ready.
She said, “I can’t believe I agreed to do it. I’m terrified of it. Though it’s a movie with a really basic concept, it’s overtly ambitious. It’s a love story of epic, epic, epic proportion. I’m scared.”
Kristen even went as far as telling director Drake Doremeus that she thinks she might not be up to the task, but Drake refused to take her excuses, being certain of the fact that she’s able to perform well in such a high-profile role.
Stewart also added, “I trust Drake’s process and I know we will do something really natural and real. But I told Drake, ‘Don’t expect that I am going to be able to do this. It’s too hard.’ But he wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. I’ve given directors disclaimers before, but never this much.”
Way to instill confidence in you and your crew, Stewart. You really got the hang of this. Not!
