Pop star Kesha has decided to have the sexual assault lawsuit against her producer Dr. Luke thrown out, according to reports close to the celebrity singer.
According to an official statement from her legal team, Kesha is focused on getting new music out, adding that she has already given the label 28 new songs and wants to release her new album and single as soon as possible.
Dr. Luke’s legal team responded to the request for a dismissal of the lawsuit as well, saying that this clearly shows that the accusations Kesha made against the producer had no merit, and that she is giving up on it because she and her legal team knew that they had no chance of winning the case.
Dr. Luke’s team added that they are still going to try to take Kesha to court for defamation of character.
Kesha has been fighting Dr. Luke and Sony Music for four years now in an effort to get out of her contract with them. Dr. Luke has stated that it’s a shame that this contract negotiation had to turn so ugly, reiterating that even though he and Kesha did have creative differences, all claims of sexual assault against him are completely false.
