Kenny Rogers Recovering After Surgery

Country music legend Kenny Rogers is now recovering after undergoing a surgery to remove a skin cancer growth from his face.

The 75-year old musician took to his page on Wednesday, May 14 and posted a picture of himself with a wrapped head in bandages.

The singer was eager to announce he is now feeling better and ready to continue with his current tour.

He wrote, “…but you should see the other guy! Had a bit of skin cancer removed today – I recommend everyone go get checked, especially since May is National Skin Cancer Detection & Prevention Month. Don’t worry though, I’m gonna look great in Knoxville (Tennessee) this weekend!”

Kenny is being honored with his own exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, after having been inducted in last year.

“Kenny Rogers redefined and elevated country music superstardom in every sense,” museum director Kyle Young said in a press release.

The singer is not the only celebrity who has gone public with a skin cancer situation in May. On May 9, Hugh Jackman had his second skin cancer scare in six months after he has discovered a growth on his nose.

Hugh also took to social media to urge fans to take better care of themselves and their skin.

He wrote, “Another Basel Cell Carsinoma (sic). All out now. Thanks Dr. Albom and Dr. Arian. PLEASE! PLEASE! WEAR SUNSCREEN!.”
