Kendall Jenner Says She Struggled To Become A Model
Ever since she began her modeling career, Kendall Jenner has been quite vocal about becoming successful in the modeling world on her own. She has insisted, on more than one occasion, that her famous family didn’t help her career. Now, the 19-year-old reality star says being a part of the Kardashian family didn’t make her chosen profession a breeze. In the Summer 2015 issue of V magazine, Jenner claims she was in fact struggling to land any work precisely because she is related to some of the most popular people in the world. Here’s what she said:
“You have no idea how many doors closed on me and how many adults were either initially reluctant to take a chance working with me or who outright laughed at me behind my back. It was kind of hard because all I was doing was going on go-sees, trying my best to break into this business as a teenager. I am so grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld, and Katie Grand, who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity. My parents taught me that work ethic is one of the most important keys in life, and I believe it.”
However, it all worked out pretty well for her as Kendall is now one of the most wanted models in the world. The foursome that she mentions have all helped launch her into stardom, and she continues to land the best gigs possible.
