Katy Perry Helps Fund New TLC Album

Everyone who grew up in the 1990s loves TLC, or at least knows all of the words to huge singles like “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.” And after the tragic loss of the “L” of the group, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who was killed in a car crash in 2002, the group has been fairly silent.

But the two remaining members, Chilli and T-Boz are poised to make a comeback and are looking to release their first album in nearly 13 years.

Since they don’t currently have a record company, the duo decided to start a crowd-funding campaign to pay for the new album. They, of course, met their Kickstart goal of $150,000 in no time and even surpassed it. And among the fans that showed support in the campaign was pop star Katy Perry, who donated $5,000 to the campaign. TLC expressed their gratitude to Perry and many other musicians who showed their support.

And if that’s not enough nostalgia for you, be sure to check out TLC on tour this year with Nelly and, believe it or not, the New Kids on the Block!
