Actress Kathleen Turner was once scared to death when she and actor Michael Douglas could die in a plane crash during a scary landing in Mexico.

The two Hollywood big shots were in the country for the making of the scenes for their 1985 action comedy The Jewel of the Nile, when they experienced a hair-raising flight into the city of Fez.

The pilot almost missed the runway while landing and the actress was convinced she and her actor friend co-star were about to die.

When she was asked about what the scariest moment of her life was in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian, she recalled, “In a plane with Michael Douglas in Morocco. We were coming back from a shoot while filming The Jewel of the Nile. As we flew into Fez, they shut off the landing lights and the plane almost overshot the runway. It was very scary.”

More on Turner news, several days ago the star said her looks and weight have changed as a result of treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. This has lead to a conclusion that focusing on one’s looks shouldn’t become the sole pursuit of young stars.

“The thinness is frightening,” she told British newspaper Metro. “To make it a consideration all day, every day. I’d prefer to have a good meal.”

“I was beautiful but I didn’t work at it like they do. I never went to the gym.”
