The tragic news of the death of Julia Roberts’ half sister, Nancy Motes, on Sunday shocked the world, especially since she was to marry in May. The latest information, confirmed by a coroner, stated that Motes left several pages of notes before her suicide.
Deputy Chief of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office Ed Winter confirmed finding several written notes at the scene, after finding 37-year old Nancy dead in a bathtub. What’s more, the report by LA police officials stated there was no proof of violence at the scene.
A source told The News, “There were three pages of rantings that her sister drove her to do this. There was one page to her mom, telling her how much she loved her, and one page apologizing to her fiancé John Dilbeck.”
On Monday, her family issued a statement claiming the cause of death was an apparent drug overdose. “There is no official report from the Coroner’s office yet. The family is both shocked and devastated,” the statement reads.
“It looks like a pill overdose,” a source added.
Julia’s left devastated and she canceled all her plans, including the Academy Awards Nominees party and her scheduled appearance on the US TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live!
As we mentioned in previous articles, a couple of weeks ago, Motes wrote a series of tweets complaining about her sister and family. Among them Motes wrote, “My own family has abandoned me.”
