Joan Rivers Still On Life Support, Daughter Melissa Confirms

Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the popular comedian Joan Rivers, released a new statement on Tuesday, Sept. 2, informing the public about her mother’s condition.

Since the 81-year-old comedian stopped breathing during a routine throat surgery, she has reportedly been on life support.

Rivers is surrounded by her closest family and friends who are hoping and praying for her recovery.

Her 46-year-old daughter told the Huffington Post that her mother’s condition has remained the same and that she is still on life support.

“On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received. At this time, she does remain on life support. I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness, and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers.”

Before being hospitalized, Rivers was busy promoting her new book, ‘’Diary of a Mad Diva.’’
