Jason Momoa’s GoT Audition Tape Proves He Was Born To Play Khal Drogo

Jason Momoa’s audition tape for the super popular show Game of Thrones is a must see if you’re a fan of the epic series.

The charming actor gave a stunning performance as Dothraki leader Khal Drogo in the first season of Game of Thrones and although his character didn’t last long on the show, he is still missed by many.

Since flashbacks are planned for the fifth season, we can only hope to see him again, even for a moment. During his audition for the series, Momoa performed a haka, a traditional dance done by the Maori people of New Zealand.

Even though the actor was born in Hawaii, he told New Zealand’s Stuff that he feels a kinship with the Maori.

“We come from the same (Polynesian) culture. When I found out more about the Maori culture, I fell in love with it and with the people, too.  It’s very, very powerful, and I wanted to capture that. I just thought it was apt for the role because it’s beautiful and scary.”
