We all know Jamie Foxx is a hero on screen, but now it seems he’s also one in real life. The Oscar-winning actor helped save a man whose truck crashed and caught fire near his house in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California.
Foxx and a paramedic who was off-duty performed the dramatic rescue just minutes before the truck was engulfed in flames. Here’s what Foxx told 32-year-old Brett Kyle as he was saving his life:
You’ve got to help me get you out because I don’t want to have to leave you. You’ve got angels around you.
After the rescue, the Hollywood star met Kyle’s father Brad and told him and the gathered reporters that he didn’t look at the situation as if he were a hero, saying that he just felt he had to do something.
According to KABC-TV, Brett Kyle was reportedly driving under the influence when the accident happened. He sustained broken bones and a punctured lung in the crash but is expected to make a full recovery.
