Iggy Azalea’s Pittsburgh Pride Performance Canceled
After rescheduling her ‘The Great Escape’ tour, Iggy Azalea has canceled another performance. This time, it is the Pittsburgh Pride where she was supposed to be the headline performer. The criticism the ‘Fancy’ singer has been receiving about her homophobic tweets from 2011 culminated in her apologizing and canceling the show.
The bad situation was made even worse with her comments from 2013, when the hateful tweets were discovered, and Azalea justified her behavior without acknowledging she was wrong. She has, however, apologized for the tweets now, using her young age as an excuse. The question that remains is why she waited until now to say she was sorry.
On the bright side, she has already been replaced, since Nick Jonas, the former member of the Jonas Brothers, called the event organizers upon hearing about Azalea’s cancellation and offered to sing. He has a huge fan base among the LGBTQ+ community, and wants to give them the performance they deserve. Nick Jonas also plays a gay boxer on ‘Kingdom’ series.
