‘I Had A Cold’: Anne Hathaway Denies Not Shaking Hands With Argentinian Journalist Over Ebola Fear

Anne Hathaway has hit back after an Argentinian journalist claimed that she refused to shake his hand when she met him because she was afraid she could catch Ebola.

The actress said that she was coming down with a cold and didn’t want anyone to get sick because of her.

Argentinian reporter Alexis Puig travelled from Buenos Aires to Los Angeles to interview Hathaway and her co-stars Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain at the premiere of their sci-fi flick Interstellar.

Puig wrote on his Twitter page in Spanish: “Anne Hathaway no me dio la mano ‘por miedo al ebola #soyunperiodistadeltercermundo,” which translates as “Anne Hathaway didn’t shake my hand because she was she was afraid of ebola #I’mAThirdWorldJournalist.”

He also praised Anne’s co-stars for not being rude.

“Christopher Nolan, Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain were great in the interviews (and none of them denied me their hands).Take that Anne!”

After returning home, Alexis pointed out that while there are confirmed cases of Ebola in the USA, there are none in Argentina.

“Thank you to everyone for your comments. Luckily I’m already in Buenos Aires, Argentina (city and country free of Ebola)…and at home Anne?”
