Hugh Jackman Treated For Skin Cancer For Third Time In A Year

'Prisoners' Germany Premiere

Popular Australian actor Hugh Jackman was recently treated for his third basal cell carcinoma in a year.

According to his rep, the Wolverine star is feeling well after the procedure.  He was seen in New York City on Sunday, Oct. 26, wearing a bandage over his nose where the carcinoma had been removed.

On Monday, Oct. 27, he shared a cover image on Instagram of Baz Luhrmann’s speech song “Everybody’s Free (to Wear Sunscreen),” captioned simply, “SUNSCREEN!”

The public was aware that he suffered from the disease in November 2013 and May 2014.  When speaking to Associated Press after his second cancer experience, the 46-year-old actor admitted that he was likely to get cancer again in the future.

“I’m realistic about the future and it’s more than likely that I’ll have at least one more but probably many more, which is not uncommon for an Aussie, particularly from English stock growing up in Australia where I don’t remember ever being told to put sunscreen on. But the beauty of this is it’s all preventable, it’s just about getting proper checkups. I can be typical man, a little lazy, I couldn’t be bothered and now I’m not lazy at all.”
