Beloved film and television director Garry Marshall died at the age of 81.
Marshall was best known for creating and directing both classic television series like “Happy Days” and “Mork and Mindy,” as well as movies like “Beaches” and “Pretty Woman.”
The New York native directed, produced and acted in movies and television shows since the late 1950s.
In total, he directed 18 movies for the big screen. Apparently, Marshall never stopped working. According to sources close to his family, he just finished rewriting “Pretty Woman” as a musical so that it would be revived on Broadway.
Marshall created some of the most iconic television shows of the 1970s, including “The Odd Couple” and “Happy Days.”
Many movie and television celebrities posted tributes to Marshall on social media, saying that he was a great man who loved telling stories and making people laugh more than anything else.
Even though the funeral service will be private, the family is planning a public memorial service for his birthday on November 13.
