Though Gwyneth Paltrow often hits the headlines thanks to her controversial statements, the 43-year-old actress really hit the nail on the head when she said that working mothers shouldn’t be ashamed of their sexuality. While talking to SELF magazine, Goop’s founder and chief creative officer opened up about her daily struggles.
Namely, as someone who is in charge of both the creative and the business side of Goop, Paltrow has a hard time finding a balance between her professional and personal life, which often leads to her feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. What’s more, following her divorce from Chris Martin, she takes care of their kids on her own. All her responsibilities make it difficult for her to find some time for herself. That, however, doesn’t stop her from openly speaking about her sexuality.
The reason why she wanted to discuss her sex life is that many people falsely assume that working mothers are not sexual beings, which couldn’t be further from the truth. She added that folks think that she doesn’t have sex, concluding that starting the conversation about female sexuality is important so that women’s ‘true sexuality doesn’t get lost or put aside.’
