Gucci Mane Sentenced To Two Years


Rapper Gucci Mane has been sentenced to serve two years in prison after reaching a plea deal over a gun possession case.

Gucci mane, real name Radric Davis, on Tuesday, May 13 pleaded guilty to possession of firearm by a convicted felon, relating to two separate events from September 2013. Police found Davis, a felon at the time, in possession of a firearm and marijuana.

The charge carried a maximum sentence of 10 years behind the bars. However, he is only expected to serve 39 months, minus 10 months credit for the time already served, according to

Davis has been behind bars since September 2013, and will be officially sentenced in July 2014.

The rapper was facing up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000 on two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon after a pair of September incidents in which he reportedly flashed a gun and also threatened police.

Both incidents came on the same week when Atlantic Records reportedly dropped his recording contract.

“On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm,” a federal prosecutor’s newest release said.

“Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney.”
