Gilmore Girls Star Edward Herrmann Dies

Best known for his role in the television program Gilmore Girls, actor Edward Herrmann died at the age of 71 this week. He was a very accomplished actor that had more than 100 projects under his belt, ranging from movies to theater.

According to information from his close ones, Herrmann was diagnosed with brain cancer and died on Wednesday after spending time in intensive care in New York. His son Rory stated to the press that he was a man who was full of knowledge, kindness and goodness.”

He played the grandfather of the Gilmore girls, Richard Gilmore, for seven years. Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore, said that he was the “kindest, classiest, most talented man” and losing him is a devastating blow to everyone who knew him.

Graham, who played his daughter on the show, added that he had a wicked sense of humor and a very sharp wit, adding that he was simply fun to be around at all times.
