Even though many believed that Top Gear had no future without Jeremy Clarkson, Friends star Matt LeBlanc might just save the day by joining BBC’s famous motoring show. His recruitment has been officially announced, which means LeBlanc will co-host the show along with British TV and radio personality Chris Evans. Both the hosts are apparently thrilled to be part of Top Gear, with Evans saying that this is a ‘dream job.’
LeBlanc is the first non-Brit to host the show, but that doesn’t mean he’s not loved by the British nation. He’s gained popularity in Britain in recent years thanks to his role in the series Episodes, which won him a Golden Globe.
Here’s what LeBlanc, who has been a guest on the show twice and hosted a spin-off named Top Gear: The Races, said about his new job:
“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honored and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter. What a thrill!”
As far as Clarkson is concerned, the legendary host signed a deal for a new car show with Amazon Instant Video, along with Richard Hammond and James May.
