Former Destiny’s Child Arrested For Disorderly Conduct

Former Destiny’s Child star Farrah Franklin wasn’t really successful after being thrown out of the band, but she’s found herself back in the spotlight after being arrested for disorderly conduct over the weekend.

The former member of the R&B group alongside Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, was allegedly taken into police custody in South Carolina in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 20 and was booked at the Horry County Detention Center in Conway at around 5am for disorderly conduct.

According to TMZ, it’s not yet clear what circumstances led to her arrest, but sources have told the website that there was alcohol involved with the incident.

Farrah was released on Sunday afternoon after posting bail. She seems to have taken to her Instagram.com page to address the incident, writing: “I’m good just hate the dumb media sometimes, but hey this is the job I signed up for. So I respect it? #TurnDownForWhat? #TeamFARRAH? #GodsChild? #Instagram.”

She was also arrested for disorderly conduct in Los Angeles back in 2011 when once again, alcohol was allegedly involved.

She is best known for joining the line-up of Destiny’s Child in 1999 alongside Michelle Williams to replace LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett.

However, Farrah was forced to leave the group just five months later after failing to show up for a number of major acts.

Beyoncé said during an appearance in TRL in 2000, “She actually did not show up for three major promotional events, one of which was ‘MTV All Access.’ She walked out on [that], and the KUBE Summer Jam was another one in Seattle. You’ll all see that on the [‘All Access’] show.

We also had a five-day promotional tour in Australia, which was our first visit there and very important, and she didn’t come. So we all agreed that Farrah and Destiny’s Child should part ways, and we wish her the best in the future.

She added, “But it wasn’t a management decision, it was a group decision. We all feel that no personal problems that can be resolved are worth disappointing your fans.”
