Dementia Hallucinations Triggered Robin Williams’ Suicide

Sources close to his family told TMZ that Robin Williams’ suicide was triggered by a disease called Lewy Body Dementia.

TMZ has obtained those documents showing the actor was struggling with the disease, marked by abnormal protein deposits in the brain that disrupt normal function.

Lewy Body Dementia is a condition commonly associated with Parkinson’s, and people afflicted by both diseases usually have side effects from Parkinson’s medications. Hallucinations are also common, where patients see imaginary objects, people and animals. Sometimes, they even try to converse with the hallucinations.
