“Firework” singer Katy Perry has been trying to buy a huge piece of property in Los Angeles for some while. Her eye is on a convent that is reportedly worth about $15 million. However, the pop singer has not had luck in trying to buy it, but that seems to be changing.
According to sources, Perry offered $14.5 million for the property, which is a beautiful eight-acre hilltop site that gives the owner an amazing view of downtown Los Angeles. The problem was that the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary did not wish to sell it to Perry. Instead they wanted to sell the property to celebrity restaurant mogul Dana Hollister, who was willing to give $15.5 million and wanted to turn it into a boutique hotel.
However, the archdiocese stepped in and claimed that the nuns did not have the right to sell the property to Hollister. It turns out that Archbishop Jose Gomez is the person with the authority to sell and he wants to sell it to Perry. A Los Angeles court has now sided with the Archbishop and has blocked the sale of the property to Hollister. So it looks as if Perry is one step closer to landing her dream home!
