Chris Evans Is Not Retiring!

The star of ‘Captain America’, Chris Evans, could not but laugh at his alleged plans to retire from acting after honoring his Marvel Studios contract. He insists that all his comments have been vastly misconstrued.

The actor recently told one media source that he is going to take a break from acting to try and focus on directing, but he insists and explains to his fans that he has no plans whatsoever to walk away from the spotlights just yet.

“I said that I directed last year. I really responded to it. I really enjoyed it. I’d love to focus a little bit more on that.” “By no means am I planning on retiring. It’s kind of a silly statement. But I certainly am going to try to focus a bit more on directing at this point,”

he reported during his appearance on U.S. breakfast show Good morning America on Monday, March 31st, when he was promoting Captain America sequel, The Winter Soldier.

He also told Variety magazine,

“If I’m acting at all, it’s going to be under Marvel contract, or I’m going to be directing. I can’t see myself pursuing acting strictly outside of what I’m contractually obligated to do.”

It looks like his comments were widely interpreted as signaling the end of Evans’s career in front of the cameras only two years after he appeared as Captain America in the third-highest-grossing film of all time, 2012’s The Avengers.

He has played superheroes in the Fantastic Four, Captain America and Avengers action franchises, but Evans also has at least two other film projects, in other genres, coming out this year.
