Friends was just a ridiculously huge show that premiered in 1994 and that ran for the remainder of the 1990s. For a few years in the 2000s too, but we don’t care about those. It was an instant hit and the six young actors who played ‘the Friends’ became stars overnight. Huge stars. Real 1990s stars.

Jennifer Anniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer were pretty much nobodies in Hollywood at the time but after only a few episodes, they became the biggerst stars on the face of the planet.

And we loved them all. Guys were being called Chandler if they were funny, girls all wanted the ‘Rachel’ haircut and everyone sat down to watch them, every single week. Friends ruled TV in the 1990s.
