Caitlyn Jenner Hated Her Masculine Voice At The ESPYs
Despite the fact that the entire world praised her touching speech at the 2015 ESPYs, Caitlyn Jenner was scared to death before getting up on stage. She looked fabulous, her speech was more than brilliant and she left us all stunned, athough she was not entirely satisfied with her presentation.
Weeks prior to the ESPYs, Caitlyn was preoccupied with what to wear. Seeing that the awards were her first major appearance in public since her transition, she really wanted to look her best – which she did, with a little help from Donatella Versace.
Moreover, she was frightened that her speech would be a complete disaster since she suffers from dyslexia, the condition being one of the reasons why she read her speech from the prompter.
Even though everything went great, Caitlyn revealed in her blog that she still has a voice issue and that it was hard listening to her masculine voice. On the other hand, she is aware that her voice is less important than her message and she hopes that viewers were more interested in what she had to say than how she said it.
Here’s what she wrote in her blog:
“While I felt like I looked great and that the gown looked fabulous, I still have a voice issue. It’s not quite right compared to my feminine appearance. That bothers me a little bit. However, I hope that people don’t listen to the pitch of my voice, but listen to what I have to say. That’s important to me.”
