Bruce Jenner’s Confession Is An Inspiration To Us All
World famous Olympian and father of 10 children, Bruce Jenner has finally opened up about his true self, and proudly announced that he is a woman. The famous reality TV star revealed the secret that has caused him much turmoil throughout his life in an exclusive interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer that aired Friday in a two-hour special named ‘20/20’. For the first time ever, Bruce has confirmed that he identifies as a woman. Here’s his courageous statement:
“Yes, for all intents and purposes, I’m a woman. People look at me differently. They see me as a macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life — it is part of me, that female side is part of me, that’s who I am. I was genetically born that way.”
He shared his heartbreaking story, saying that he has struggled with being transgender since he was a child and that he would wake up every day for almost his entire life and feel alone.
“I look at it this way—Bruce always telling a lie. He’s lived a lie his whole life about who he is. And I can’t do that any longer. My brain is much more female than it is male. It’s hard for people to understand that, but that’s what my soul is.”
Recalling some painful memories, Bruce admitted that he considered suicide. Here’s how he described his thoughts in his darkest hours:
“I thought wouldn’t the easiest thing right now … just go in the room, get a gun, boom. Pain’s over, it’s done, go to a better place, but then I thought I wanted to see how the story ends”
Although Jenner referred to himself mostly in the third person, he prefers male pronouns for now. Also, he has decided not to reveal his female name for the time being.
