Handsome actor Bradley Cooper is credited with introducing his The Hangover co-star Zach Galifianakis to President Barack Obama. He reportedly came up with an idea to film a mocking-interview with the purpose of promoting his new healthcare initiative.

Galifianakis became a huge Internet hit in March with his irreverent FunnyOrDie.com web series Between Two Ferns. He was talking to politician about his birth certificate, as well as being a nerd and of course, the questions related to North Korea.

After just two hours of being online, the series got three million views and provided much needed attention to Healthcare.gov website. At Politico.com they say Cooper was the one who hooked up the odd pair.

On February 14th, the actor was at the White House, attending a dinner in honor of French President Francois Hollande’s U.S. visit, and while there, he sat with Barack’s senior advisor Valerie Jarrett to brainstorm ideas about how to help get the word out about the Affordable Care Act.

Cooper suggested Obama film a Between Two Ferns episode and then, pulled out his cell phone, got Galifianakis on the line and put him on speaker, according to the political new website.

The statement also reads,

“He (Galifianakis) was ready to help. Now they just needed to sell the idea to the president.”

Famous actor was even mentioned in the interview filmed after Obama praised the Oscar nominee for a ‘a great show’ during his Between Two Ferns appearance back in 2009.

Galifianakis responded in his funny way,

“Bradley Cooper… Everybody loves Bradley… Being like that in Hollywood, that’s easy. Be short, fat, and smell like Doritos and try to make it in Hollywood!”

Other people to help raise awareness about the new bill include the mothers of Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys and Adam Levine. They all stepped in to call young Americans to register for free healthcare.

On the other hand, actor Adam Scott who recently reprised his role in Step Brothers from 2008, made jokes about the initiative.
