Beyoncé Launches Girl Empowerment Campaign “Ban Bossy”

Who Rules The World? Beyoncé would say girls do and she’s determined to stick to that answer.
The singer has started a new campaign called Ban Bossy aimed for young girls to take initiative in their local communities and become leaders.

The ultimate goal of Ban Bossy is to produce a new generation of female leaders, along with the Girl Scouts of the US and, an organization working for women’s empowerment.

“Girls are less interested in leadership than boys, since they worry about being called ‘bossy’, whereas boys who take on responsible roles are called “leaders” told Beyoncé in a new Public Service Announcement, adding “Be brave. Be You…
I’m not bossy – I’m the boss.”

The singer also said, “So the next time you have the urge to call your little girl bossy? Take a deep breath and praise her leadership skills instead.”

Actresses Jennifer Garner, Jane Lynch, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have also joined the campaign.

“I think the word ‘bossy’ is just a squasher,” Glee star Jane Lynch said.
