Ben Affleck And Bill Maher Get Into A Heated Dispute Over Islam

Bill Maher, who has been loud and sometimes sexist about Islam, is back in the ring with Ben Affleck on ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’.

Maher recently said the Muslim world has too much in common with ISIS, including the infamous practice of female genital mutilation (FGM). Religion scholar Reza Aslan said his argument was “not very sophisticated” because many Christian countries also practice FGM, and many Muslim countries don’t. Aslan argued that he should be saying it is more of a Central African problem rather than a Muslim one.

This time, Affleck was joined by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, who pointed out that there are multiple Muslim reformers like Malala Yousafzai, while neuroscientist Sam Harris sided with Maher. Here’s the heated debate.
